Life In Details February Challenge

LOVE

That was this month's challenge.  I decided to use a 6x8 layout to document our Valentine's Day.
I used the Valentine Spoons stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.
Simple! And I love it!
I have come to accept that if I want to keep up with this years album and make cards that I will need to keep it simple.
Be sure to visit the Life In Details Blog and join us for this months challenge!

Colored stamping on Kraft

Another new (to me) technique

Hello There!
Wait! What?
Two posts in 1 day?!?!
Crazy I know.
But I did tell you I was going to spend the day crafting.

This card was also inspired by Jennifer McGuire.

This new to me technique has somewhat of a learning curve.  After I stamped the image in white I colored it in with Copic markers.  The cardstock really absords and spreads the marker ink outside the lines.  I thought about tossing the card but instead I created a 'halo' effect around the flowers.
I think I need more practice.
I added sparkle to the flowers with the Wink of Stella Brush Pen. (unfortunately the camera did not pick up much of the sparkle)

I'm entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #12 So Sparkly

New to me technique - Stamp layering with white pigment ink

Inspired by Jennifer McGuire

Hello there!
I'm in crafting paradise today!  I am on February break and have every intention of spending the day in my crafting space.

Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by Jennifer McGuire.  Recently she shared a technique that uses stamp layering with white pigment ink on kraft cardstock. Here's my take on it...

Since I never tried this technique before I used a scrap piece of cardstock. I was so pleased with my practice that I used it on the final card!
I used the Pretty Peonies stamp set by WPLUS9, Hero Arts Dye inks in Pale Tomato and Field Greens. I popped up the stamped piece with fun foam.

I'm submitting this card into the  Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog

CAS 4 Online Card Class

It's time for another Online Card Class!

Clean and Simple is my preferred card making style.  Mostly because they are quicker to make than more complicated card stlyes.
I made this card yesterday for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge Spots and Dots

I purchased a few new items to use in class but am determined not to buy anymore supplies.  I know it will be very hard especially with all the inspiration that comes from the class.

Products used:
Simon Says Stamp (SSS)-Small Thanks Die
Hero Arts-Circular Designs
Avery Elle Inks and 6x6 paper pad (love that the paper matches the ink color)

Happy New Year!

Project Life Share (January Life in Details Challenge)

Excuse me while I clean out the cobwebs from the blog!  My poor neglected blog.

I have been obsessed with card making lately and as a result my Project Life album has been neglected along with my blog.

I won't bore you with the other factors that caused me to put my album aside but let's just say that I am going to divorce my Selphy printer and I am returning to the 12x12 album size for Project Life.

This month's challenge was to create a New Year's themed page.
As you can see I kept things simple with this page...one of my new year's resolutions.  KISS!

Join us for the challenge! You can check it out at January Challenge.
